| Lead Clips The carp-r-us lead release clip is currently the safest way to set up your rigs with the carp's welfare in mind. Unlike conventional lead release clips which rely on the carp being able to pull the lead from the clip in a snagged situation, the carp-r-us clip allows the angler to free the lead from his end of the line. It is probably best to look at the pictures to see how the conventional clip can only be pulled one way (the carps end) to release the clip and thus eject the lead; the redesigned clip can be pulled either way to release lead. One of the failings of the conventional clip is that the tail rubber is often jammed down tight making it impossible for the carp to free the lead. The new clip has three settings for the amount of pressure to release the lead, clicking in to the 1 st position is the lightest and should be used for all snag or weed fishing situations. Position two holds the lead more firmly and position 3 is for open water only fishing as the carp would not be able to release the lead. The second great feature of this clip is the fact that you do not tie the mainline to the swivel but pass it through the loop of the swivel then back through the side of the clip and tie it on to a 5mm ring which sits between the clip and the tail rubber. This means that should the mainline snap during playing a fish the mainline will pull through the swivel leaving just the hooklink hanging from the carp's mouth. This new design surely has to be the safest yet? The clips are also useable as a running rig and set up as such gives you double indication of a pick up because for every 1 inch that the carp moves away from the lead 2 inches of line come off of the spool.
